The Adventures of Barry McKenzie

The story

Barry McKenzie heads from Australia to England for a dose of “cultural education,” traveling with his aunt Edna Everage and winding up in Earls Court’s Australian ghetto, where his old mate Curly already has a flat. Barry Crocker is Bazza, an innocent abroad whose loyalties run to beer, Bondi and beautiful sheilas, while Barry Humphries’ Edna brings a very different idea of refinement. The story follows Barry’s collision with London manners, expat life and the gap between respectable culture and the habits he packed with him.
