After escaping the gallows in 1691 New England, an evil warlock is hurled into 1980s Los Angeles, where he begins hunting down the pieces of a dark book linked to the end of the world. Julian Sands is the elegant, predatory conjurer, while Richard E. Grant's witch hunter Giles Redferne is dragged into the modern era after him, baffled by cars, apartments, and city life but still fixed on the chase. Lori Singer's Kassandra gets caught in the pursuit as the warlock leaves a trail of curses and bodies across contemporary California. Old-world superstition and late-’80s urban horror collide in a story built around pursuit, magic, and culture shock.
