Jeffrey Combs is the rattled assistant pulled back into the experiment, while Barbara Crampton’s doctor keeps pushing for answers as the line between perception and invasion starts to collapse. Stuart Gordon’s 1986 adaptation of the Lovecraft story stays close to the lab and its fallout, building from mad-science setup into flesh-warping mutations, psychic phenomena, and bursts of graphic violence.
