Pierre Blum, a 40-year-old writer whose early success has faded, is pulled into danger after a chance meeting on a casino terrace. Melvil Poupaud is Pierre, drawn in by Joseph Paskin (André Dussollier), a charismatic, manipulative man with influence in political circles who recruits him for a strange mission tied to a past he’d rather forget. At the same time, Pierre falls for Clémence Poésy’s Laura, a young extreme-left activist, as personal entanglements and political maneuvering begin to overlap.
