North by Northwest
ActionAdventureCrimeDramaMysteryThriller136 min
Advertising executive Roger Thornhill is mistaken for a spy in New York, and a routine day turns into a cross-country flight from both foreign agents and the police. Cary Grant is Thornhill, a polished ad man who suddenly has to outrun kidnappers, murder charges, and a name that isn’t his. Along the way he meets Eva Marie Saint’s Eve Kendall, an elegant fellow traveler whose loyalties are hard to place, while James Mason brings a cool, controlled threat to the man hunting him. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, the film moves from city hotels and trains to open country and one of its most famous American landmarks.
