Small-time hood Larry Gigli is ordered to kidnap the mentally disabled younger brother of a powerful federal prosecutor, turning a clumsy criminal job into something much riskier. Ben Affleck is Gigli, a low-level enforcer whose bosses lose confidence fast enough to send in backup: Jennifer Lopez’s Ricki, a sharp, self-possessed gangster with her own instructions. Holed up together while the kidnapping threatens to unravel, the two circle each other through arguments, mixed signals, and pressure from the people above them, with Gigli’s growing attraction to Ricki complicating an already unstable plan.
