Obvious Child

ComedyDramaRomance85 min

Jenny Slate is Donna Stern, a stand-up comic whose life comes apart in quick succession: a breakup, a lost job, and then an unplanned pregnancy after a one-night fling with a graduate student. As Donna tries to keep performing and figure out what to do next, her sharp stage persona collides with the messier parts of growing up. Jake Lacy's Max reenters the picture with unexpected sweetness, while Gaby Hoffmann brings blunt, lived-in energy as Donna's best friend, Kelly.
