When a comet passes close to Earth, machines suddenly start thinking for themselves — and killing anyone nearby. At an isolated truck stop, a small group of survivors, including Emilio Estevez, Pat Hingle, and Laura Harrington, finds itself pinned down by a convoy of homicidal 18-wheelers demanding fuel. Directed by Stephen King, the film widens the threat from the trucks to the whole roadside world: arcade cabinets, vending machines, and other everyday machines turned lethal. The truck stop becomes a siege point, with the people inside scrambling for gasoline, food, and some way past the rigs outside.
