After a shuttle crew investigating an enormous spacecraft near Halley’s Comet brings three suspended humanoids back to Earth, London is hit by an outbreak that looks less like disease than possession. Steve Railsback is the astronaut caught between the mission and the catastrophe that follows, with Mathilda May at the center of the visitors’ hypnotic pull. Tobe Hooper takes the story from orbital mystery to citywide panic, as drained bodies pile up, authorities scramble to understand the threat, and a vampiric alien presence turns London into the ground zero of a spreading apocalypse.
