Life with Father
ComedyFamily118 min
In a well-to-do turn-of-the-century Manhattan household, everyday life runs on the force of one man’s opinions. Father rules the home with strict ideas about money, manners, and how everyone else should behave, but his wife and four sons keep throwing the house into fresh disorder. Small domestic disputes grow into running battles over spending, parenting, religion, and social expectations, especially when Father’s resistance to change starts colliding with the family’s plans for him. William Powell and Irene Dunne anchor the chaos as the story turns ordinary family business into a steady contest of wills, with one stubborn patriarch trying to keep control of a home that never stays under control.
