The Moderns
ComedyDramaRomance126 min
In 1926 Paris, an American artist moves through the cafes, studios, and parties of the Lost Generation, trying to make a place for himself in a city crowded with writers, patrons, and people reinventing their lives. His work and his love life tangle when he becomes caught between a former lover, a wealthy collector, and the circles that can make or ruin a reputation. As deals, affairs, and artistic ambitions overlap, the city’s modernist glamour starts to look precarious. Keith Carradine and Linda Fiorentino are folded into a story of expatriates and strivers chasing love, money, and status in a Paris where everyone seems to be performing a version of themselves.
