The Electric State
ActionAdventureComedyDramaSci-Fi128 min
In an alternate 1990s where cartoon-like service robots have been driven into exile after a failed uprising, orphaned teen Michelle heads across the American Southwest with a mysterious machine she believes is connected to her missing brother. Millie Bobby Brown is Michelle, following that lead into a battered, retro-futurist landscape as she reluctantly teams up with Keats, a smuggler given a loose, worn-in swagger by Chris Pratt. Their search takes them toward the desert’s sealed-off Exclusion Zone, where robot outcasts, scavengers and the trail of Michelle’s brother start to converge.
