Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang
ComedyFamilyFantasyWar109 min
With her husband away at war, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Isabel Green is struggling to run the family farm and keep her unruly children in line when Nanny McPhee arrives at the door. Emma Thompson is the blunt, magical governess, soon pulled into a household battle between the farm kids and their two spoiled city cousins. As the feud spreads from the kitchen to the fields, Nanny answers with unusual methods: a flying motorcycle, a statue that comes to life, a tree-climbing piglet and an unexpected baby elephant. Her lessons are aimed less at punishment than at getting this crowded family to stop fighting and work together.
