Nanny McPhee

ComedyFamilyFantasy97 min

In Victorian England, recently widowed Cedric Brown is running out of options: his seven unruly children have driven off every nanny he can hire. Emma Thompson is Nanny McPhee, a severe, mysterious caretaker who meets the household’s chaos with firm rules and a hint of magic. As Simon and his siblings test her at every turn, Colin Firth’s harried Mr. Brown is also dealing with pressure from the family’s benefactor, Lady Adelaide Stitch, who threatens to split the children up. The story mixes nursery-tale fantasy with a ramshackle household comedy built around discipline, grief, and family order.
