Philomena

ComedyDrama98 min

After decades of searching, Philomena Lee turns to a journalist to help find the son taken from her when she was sent to a convent as a pregnant teenager in 1950s Ireland. Judi Dench is Philomena, now older but still carrying the loss, while Steve Coogan’s Martin Sixsmith begins following her trail from England to the United States. As the two piece together records, memories, and church silence, the film keeps its focus on their uneasy partnership and on a mother trying to understand what happened to her child.
