Silent Light

DramaRomance145 min

In a Mennonite colony in northern Mexico, Johan is a husband and father whose love for another woman leaves him caught between desire, guilt, and the demands of faith. Cornelio Wall is Johan, moving through family prayers, farm work, and strained conversations as the truth of the affair ripples through his home and community. With Miriam Toews and Maria Pankratz among the people around him, the film stays close to daily ritual and silence, and its dialogue is spoken in Plautdietsch, the Low German dialect used by the Mennonite community.
