When the staff of a luxury Manhattan apartment tower learn that their pensions have vanished in a Wall Street mogul’s Ponzi scheme, the loss hits close to home: the man who took their money is under house arrest in the penthouse above them. Josh, the building manager, pulls together a small crew of employees and outsiders to steal it back before the authorities lock everything down. Their plan depends on people who are in over their heads, including a petty thief played by Eddie Murphy and a ruined investor played by Matthew Broderick. As the break-in takes shape, they have to dodge FBI scrutiny, get past the tower’s security, and outsmart a resident who thinks he’s untouchable.
