The Blues Brothers
ActionAdventureComedyCrimeMusical133 min
Fresh out of prison, John Belushi is Jake Blues, trying to save the Catholic home where he and his brother Elwood were raised by reuniting their old band and raising the money fast. Dan Aykroyd’s Elwood follows him through Chicago churches, bars, and a string of increasingly destructive car chases as the brothers scramble to put a concert together. Along the way, the movie opens up into full musical showcases for James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, and John Lee Hooker, with Carrie Fisher turning up at the edges of their mission with her own plans.
