In 1990, a closeted teenager from Louisiana enlists in the U.S. Marine Corps with his best friend, stepping into boot camp just as the military leaves no room for who he is. Cameron Cope, played by Miles Heizer, has to survive punishing drills, the crush of conformity, and the constant risk that one wrong move could expose him. What begins as a shared leap with Ray McAffey turns into a daily test of loyalty and self-protection as the recruits are stripped down and remade. Under the watch of Sergeant Sullivan, who takes a pointed interest in Cameron, every exercise carries extra pressure and every bond inside the barracks becomes harder to trust.
