In 1899, a steamship carrying migrants from across Europe heads for New York, each passenger guarding a past they would rather leave behind. The voyage changes when the ship’s captain diverts course to answer a distress signal from another vessel that vanished months earlier. What they find pulls the passengers into a chain of strange events: cryptic messages, shifting loyalties, and signs that the journey itself may not be what it seems. As fear spreads through the corridors and decks, Maura, a doctor played by Emily Beecham, and the captain, played by Andreas Pietschmann, try to make sense of a mystery that keeps widening instead of closing.
