A Fantastic Woman
Drama104 min
Marina sings in clubs and works as a waitress, and when her partner Orlando dies suddenly, her grief is met with suspicion, intrusion, and open contempt. Daniela Vega is Marina, trying to mourn while police and Orlando’s relatives pry into her life and push her to the margins of the future they had planned. Francisco Reyes’s Orlando is the man at the center of that loss, even as his family shuts Marina out of his funeral and the home they shared. In Spanish, this Chilean drama stays close to Marina as she moves through a world determined to question her identity and her place in it.
