Frederick Loren invites five strangers to spend the night in a supposedly haunted mansion, offering each $10,000 if they make it until morning. Vincent Price is Loren, an amused, unnerving millionaire whose party comes with locked doors, a gun for every guest, and arrival by hearse; Carol Ohmart is his icy wife, Annabelle. As the wager unfolds, the guests find themselves cut off inside a house full of traps, whispers, and sudden shocks, where every scream could be a prank, a setup, or something waiting in the dark. William Castle’s black-and-white chiller turns a simple dinner party into a night of suspicion and menace.
