Beastie Boys Story
Documentary120 min
Onstage at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre, Mike D and Adam Horovitz recount how the Beastie Boys came together and how a band became a 40-year friendship. Built around a live presentation rather than a standard interview format, the film follows Michael Diamond and Horovitz through the group’s history, their bond with Adam Yauch, and the turns that made the Beastie Boys a fixture in music and pop culture. Spike Jonze, a longtime collaborator, directs with the same loose, personal rapport the group brought to its public life, letting the story move between humor, memory, and the band’s own version of its past.
