Free Solo

ActionAdventureDocumentary100 min

Alex Honnold is a rock climber preparing for something no one has done before: a free solo ascent of Yosemite’s 3,000-foot El Capitan, with no ropes or safety gear. The film follows his training, planning, and repeated attempts as the climb shifts from private goal to a feat the climbing world is watching closely. Tommy Caldwell and Sanni McCandless are among the people in Honnold’s orbit as the date approaches, while the camera stays close to the physical precision, preparation, and narrow margins that define the climb itself.
