Choose ReelRecs for the whole next-watch decision
ReelRecs is our choice when you want one app to find a personal pick and take it to the screen. Your ratings shape the recommendations. Rec Score explains personal fit, while Bookmarks, service filters and Where to Watch keep the next step close.
Couchmoney creates personalized movie and TV lists in a Trakt account. Its appeal is especially clear for someone who already keeps ratings there. The decision is whether you want lists added to that existing setup or a dedicated ReelRecs experience for discovering, choosing and finding where to watch.

Viewing intelligence beyond an app’s own community
ReelRecs licenses PeerLogix’s full historical viewing collection for model training. It contains more than a billion viewing observations across more than ten years, with coverage including Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, HBO Max, Paramount+, Peacock and other major services.
This gives your ratings an established foundation to work with. You can start with six familiar films or shows; the model already has learned connections between titles. A new app account does not mean starting with an empty picture of the streaming world.
Your explicit opinions make those connections personal. Someone can watch a film and dislike it. By rating both favorites and disappointments, you help ReelRecs distinguish what you enjoy from what merely shares a genre or appears on a popular list.
See how the recommendation engine works. Viewing observations and ratings are different signals, so comparing their raw totals would not establish which app predicts enjoyment better.
Make the reason for a pick visible
A list of intriguing films is a useful beginning. ReelRecs adds a personal score and an explanation you can open beside the title. That helps when a poster or synopsis alone does not make the choice obvious.
For example, a recorded recommendation connected Killers of the Flower Moon to the viewer’s ratings of GoodFellas and Forrest Gump. Its director and writer supplied recognizable connections across two different favorites. The example shows a personal prediction of 8.0 and the rating context behind the explanation.
You can use the same personal context for a film a friend mentions. Search the title, check its score, then save it or follow Where to Watch. Discovery from a conversation can become a usable next choice in the same place as an app suggestion.
Find something on the services you use
Select your services in Discover → Recs for you → Platform → Apply. The free filter narrows picks to selected-service subscription listings. It also works in Bookmarks, so a saved film can become tonight’s answer without starting from scratch.
Where to Watch supplies the provider options. Watch through the provider using its usual subscription or rental terms. ReelRecs keeps the decision organized before you open that service.
For a shared evening, Watch+ combines joined profiles and shows both Group Score and current interest. You can find a film that fits the group and see who wants to watch, rather than passing another open-ended list around.
If you already use Trakt
Couchmoney needs a Trakt account with ratings. Lists update as you watch or rate more; the service says first results usually take minutes and can take hours.
ReelRecs does not automatically copy your Trakt or Couchmoney history. Start with six remembered titles and save the few films you most want to watch next. Your account becomes useful before you rebuild an entire backlog.
If importing a complete journal is essential to you, that is a present limitation to consider. For choosing tonight’s film, the simpler starting point is a small set of honest ratings followed by your personal picks.
Why start with ReelRecs?
The strongest case is the complete experience. Licensed viewing history gives the engine a broad starting point. Your ratings shape it around you. The title’s score, explanation and streaming options then help you act on the result.
ReelRecs’s own evaluation put a favorite above a dislike 94% of the time, versus 50% for a placebo comparison. That is a defined preference test, not a claim about Couchmoney’s accuracy. The methods explain the evidence.
Download ReelRecs free and rate six movies or shows you know. Make it the place you open when the question is what you will love watching next.
