Geri's Game

AnimationFamily5 min

An elderly man settles onto a park bench for a quiet game of chess, setting out pieces for both sides and immediately turning the match into a duel with himself. As he shifts from one side of the board to the other, each turn brings out a different temperament: one player smug and swaggering, the other cautious and increasingly cornered. The fun comes from how seriously Geri treats both roles, reacting to every move as if his opponent were really there. What begins as a simple pastime turns into a tense little contest of nerves, bluffing, and one sly plan to escape defeat.
