The Voice Inside

ComedyDrama93 min

Selim is a self-doubting writer who moves back in with his mother, hoping to escape loneliness and the drift of his own life. Engin Gunaydin’s Selim is most comfortable in the world inside his head, until he meets Aysil, a wealthy young woman who falls for him anyway. Leyla Lydia Tugutlu brings Aysil into Selim’s already complicated orbit, where his mother and her friends become unexpectedly tangled up in the relationship. The setup turns Selim’s private uncertainty into a romantic comedy about family, self-image, and the awkward turns that come with trying to change.
