Magic Carpet Ride

ComedyDrama106 min

A struggling young comedian on the verge of giving up crosses paths with a car thief who offers him an unexpected apprenticeship in petty crime. Tolga Çevik is the failed performer, still clinging to his Superman act, while Yılmaz Erdoğan’s small-time operator folds him into a world of stolen cars, odd jobs, and shaky heist plans. As the two circle through Turkey’s street-level hustle economy, the film keeps its focus on their mismatched partnership and the trouble that follows. Demet Akbağ and Cem Yılmaz are part of the larger ensemble around their improvised criminal crew.
