Young Vincent Malloy wants to be just like Vincent Price, and his ordinary home life keeps slipping into macabre fantasies that wear out his mother’s patience. Tim Burton’s early stop-motion short follows the boy as imagination overtakes routine, turning childhood play into gothic horror parody. Vincent Price lends the narration, giving Vincent’s morbid daydreams the stately voice he worships. Shot in black and white and built around Burton’s angular, handmade design, the film turns a suburban child’s inner world into a miniature house of horrors.
