In an Aegean village in the early 1970s, young Adem has just finished primary school and talks his family into letting him spend the summer working for local soda seller Ciber Kemal. When Ramadan begins, he insists on fasting while doing the job, and the heat turns an ordinary workday into an ordeal as hunger, thirst, and exhaustion start to blur into hallucinations. Berat Efe Parlar is at the center of the story, with Cem Yılmaz among the figures in Adem’s orbit. Family life, village customs, and the rhythms of a Turkish summer shape the film’s coming-of-age frame.
