Sinister

HorrorMysteryThriller110 min

True-crime writer Ellison Oswalt is chasing the book that will put him back on top, so he moves his family into a Pennsylvania house where a family was murdered and a child disappeared. Ethan Hawke's Ellison starts working the case from inside the crime scene, then finds a box of Super 8 home movies in the attic, each one tied to another killing. As the footage turns more disturbing and clues point past ordinary violence toward something occult, Juliet Rylance is Ellison's wife Tracy, who has no idea why her family is living in a house with a history he hasn't fully told her about.
