The Panic in Needle Park
CrimeDramaRomance110 min
In New York City’s Needle Park, a group of heroin addicts drifts through the daily routines of scoring, using, and waiting. Al Pacino is Bobby, a young addict and small-time hustler whose relationship with Kitty Winn’s Helen, a homeless young woman, becomes the center of the story. Helen looks to Bobby for the stability she can’t find anywhere else, even as the world around them keeps narrowing. The film stays close to street corners, cramped apartments, and the fragile rhythms of life on the margins, folding a low-key love story into its portrait of addiction and betrayal.
