After killing a bear in anger over his brother’s death, Inuit teenager Kenai is transformed by the Spirits into a bear himself. Joaquin Phoenix is Kenai, suddenly trapped in the body of the animal he hunted and sent across the wilderness toward a distant mountain if he wants to become human again. Along the way, he teams up with Koda, a talkative cub voiced by Jeremy Suarez, and meets a stream of unruly wildlife, from bickering moose to mammoths and rams. As Kenai travels in unfamiliar skin, the story turns on what he learns about family, loss, and brotherhood.
