Arnold Schwarzenegger is Harry Tasker, a U.S. secret agent who hides his double life from his family while chasing a terrorist cell smuggling nuclear warheads into the country. When Harry begins to suspect that his unsuspecting wife (Jamie Lee Curtis) is being drawn toward a swaggering used-car salesman (Bill Paxton), his marriage and his covert work collide. James Cameron turns domestic deception into part of the mission, mixing spy gadgets, surveillance, kidnappings, and escalating action as Harry tries to keep both crises from blowing up at once.
