The Longest Yard
ComedyCrimeDrama113 min
Disgraced pro quarterback Paul Crewe lands in a Texas federal prison, where the warden leans on him to help sharpen the guards’ football team. Adam Sandler is Crewe, who proposes a tune-up game and winds up quarterbacking a crew of inmates against the prison staff instead. With help from Nate Scarborough, an older ex-NFL coach on the inside, Crewe has to build a team while the warden works to rig the matchup from above. Chris Rock and Burt Reynolds are among the faces around him in a remake that turns jailhouse football into a bruising mix of locker-room comedy, grudges, and corruption.
