Mary Queen of Scots

Drama125 min

In 1561, newly widowed Mary Stuart returns from France to Scotland to reclaim her crown, only to become a political and personal threat to the cousin on England’s throne. Saoirse Ronan is Mary, young and determined to rule rather than serve as a figurehead, while Margot Robbie’s Elizabeth I watches a rival claim gather strength across the border. As pressure mounts around marriage, succession, and religion, both courts fill with advisers, schemers, and shifting loyalties, and the relationship between the two queens hardens into a contest over power, legitimacy, and survival.
