Evita

DramaMusical135 min

Born into poverty, Eva Duarte rises from the stages and radio studios of 1940s Argentina to the center of national power. Madonna is Eva, whose ambition and public image carry her into the orbit of rising politician Juan Perón; Jonathan Pryce brings a stern, controlled presence to the future president. As Eva becomes both first lady and a flashpoint for adoration and resentment, the film moves through campaign rallies, broadcasts, and large-scale musical numbers. Antonio Banderas's Ché threads through the story as a skeptical narrator, watching Eva’s transformation into one of Argentina’s most divisive public figures.
