Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret
Documentary90 min
Aspiring environmentalist Kip Andersen starts with a basic question: why do major green organizations say so little about animal agriculture when discussing climate change and sustainability? Following his own investigation, the documentary tracks Andersen through interviews, public statements, and uneasy exchanges with advocacy groups as he connects livestock production to water use, deforestation, pollution, and ocean dead zones. Along the way, figures including Al Gore and Michael Pollan appear in a film that mixes on-camera inquiry with pointed, sometimes wry activism. The focus stays on the gap between environmental messaging and an industry Andersen argues is central to the problem.
