When a small-time detective is mistaken for a CBI agent, the case in front of him suddenly becomes a race to stop an assassination attempt on the Chief Minister. Shah Rukh Khan is the overmatched investigator at the center of the mix-up, with Twinkle Khanna alongside him as the confusion around his false identity pulls him into a larger political conspiracy. Amrish Puri and Johny Lever add to a story that keeps jumping between undercover bluffs, criminal scheming, and broad comic chaos as one lucky mistake turns into a dangerous job he was never meant to handle.
