After surviving a massacre during China’s Taiping Rebellion, General Pang (Jet Li) is rescued by a woman and taken in by two bandit leaders, who join him in a blood-brother oath to wipe out the rebels. Andy Lau’s Er Hu commands the group in the field as Pang turns scattered village clashes into a larger military campaign.
