Play Misty for Me

DramaThriller102 min

Clint Eastwood is Dave Garver, a late-night radio disc jockey whose brief affair with a listener turns threatening when she refuses to let him go. Jessica Walter’s fan first arrives as a voice on the phone, repeatedly calling his show to ask for “Misty,” then pushes into his private life when Dave tries to return to a more stable relationship. In Eastwood’s directorial debut, the danger grows out of familiar routines—on-air banter, a night out, the walk back home—as obsession turns into stalking.
