Fifteen years after disappearing into witness protection, Rick Jarmin is spotted by the ex-girlfriend he left behind. Marianne Graves thinks she has found an old flame, but the reunion quickly turns into a chase when the criminals Rick once testified against learn he is still alive. Forced onto the road together, the two scramble from one hiding place to the next while old resentments flare and their attraction returns. As crooked cops and hired killers close in, Rick has to explain the life he has been living and keep Marianne alive long enough for them both to get clear. Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn lead the story’s mix of pursuit, bickering, and rekindled romance.
