Mutiny on the Bounty

ActionAdventureDramaRomance132 min

On an 18th-century voyage through the South Seas, the crew of the HMS Bounty turns against its commander after Captain Bligh’s cruelty makes life aboard unbearable. Charles Laughton’s Bligh runs the ship through fear, punishment, and rigid discipline, while Clark Gable is Fletcher Christian, the first officer who finally leads the revolt. Franchot Tone appears as Roger Byam, a young midshipman caught between naval duty and the men around him. A stop in Tahiti gives the sailors a glimpse of another life before the ship’s tensions snap into the mutiny that made the Bounty story famous.
