Polytechnique
CrimeDramaThriller77 min
In Montreal in 1989, a gunman enters the École Polytechnique and targets female engineering students in Denis Villeneuve’s dramatization of the Montreal Massacre. The film moves through the attack and its immediate aftermath from inside the school, following two students caught in the violence, with Karine Vanasse and Sébastien Huberdeau among the young people trying to make sense of what is happening around them. Maxim Gaudette is the shooter, a misogynist whose assault turns an ordinary day at a Quebec engineering school into one of Canada’s most devastating acts of violence.
