As Kerala’s ruling Left prepares for another assembly win, the party high command jolts its own ranks by naming wealthy businessman David John Medayil as the next chief minister candidate instead of veteran CM Achuthan Nair. The decision sparks resistance from local leaders, quiet plotting inside the party, and a kidnapping that turns a succession fight into a wider political crisis. Anoop Menon and Prakash Raj are among the central figures, with Sunny Wayne in the mix, in a story rooted in party discipline, public power, and revolt from within.
