In the final days of World War II, an ex-soldier strikes gold in the Lapland wilderness and tries to carry his haul into the city before retreating German troops can take it from him. Jorma Tommila is the solitary prospector at the center of the chase, facing a scorched-earth column led by Aksel Hennie’s brutal SS officer. What begins as a robbery on a remote stretch of northern Finland turns into a running battle across mined roads, rivers, and burned-out terrain, with the Germans discovering they’ve targeted someone far more dangerous than he looks.
