True Grit

ActionAdventureDramaWestern110 min

After her father is murdered by a hired hand, 14-year-old Mattie Ross sets out to track the killer herself. Hailee Steinfeld is Mattie, flinty and exacting, hiring the toughest U.S. Marshal she can find: Jeff Bridges’ one-eyed Rooster Cogburn, a hard-drinking lawman with a rough reputation. Their pursuit is complicated by Texas Ranger LaBoeuf (Matt Damon), who’s after the same man for reasons of his own. Directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, the film follows the uneasy alliance between a stubborn girl and two seasoned trackers as they head into dangerous country after Tom Chaney.
