Up in Smoke

ActionAdventureComedy86 min

Anthony Stoner (Tommy Chong), an unemployed pot-smoking slacker and amateur drummer, ditches his strict parents and hits the road, where he falls in with Cheech Marin’s Pedro de Pacas. Busted for marijuana and released on a technicality, the pair wander through Southern California in a haze of hitchhiking, petty trouble, and increasingly strange detours. Stacy Keach’s Sgt. Stedenko keeps surfacing on their trail, while the story drifts from Tijuana to Los Angeles with roadside encounters, low-rent schemes, and a rambling comic rhythm built around Cheech & Chong’s laid-back double act.
