The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
ActionAdventureComedyWar122 min
During World War II, the British Army sends a covert unit behind enemy lines to strike Nazi forces with tactics no formal military operation would sanction. Guy Ritchie’s film draws on the early work of the Special Operations Executive, the secret organization founded by Winston Churchill and built for sabotage, deception, and irregular warfare. Henry Cavill and Eiza González are among the ensemble of soldiers and operatives assembled for the mission, which turns on stealth, explosives, and a willingness to ignore every rule of conventional combat. The story roots its action in the origins of modern black-ops warfare, with a knowingly unruly edge.
