Anil Kapoor is Fanney Khan, a struggling singer and father who channels his own stalled ambitions into his teenage daughter’s dream of becoming a star. When the music world seems closed to them, he latches onto a desperate plan that pulls a famous vocalist into his orbit. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan appears as the glamorous singer caught up in the scheme, while Rajkummar Rao slips into the story as her love interest.
